LANSING, Mich. (AP) - A Michigan hunter got a big buck and even bigger trouble. State conservation authorities charge Christopher James didn't have a hunting license when he bagged a huge 24-point buck with compound bow last October. A local newspaper (Jackson Citizen-Patriot ) report on the accomplishment prompted a state conservation officer to investigate. Authorities charge James bought his license the day after getting the deer. The antlers have been seized and James faces up to 90 days in jail if convicted. James says he never intended to break the law and wishes he never shot the deer!
