Hi, I'm new here and everyone seems so nice that I thought I could ask for prayer and maybe som advice.....

I'm newly married and my husband and I are like strangers in our own house. It wasnt like this before we got married. We are renting the basement to a male friend of his and now all my husband does is go straight to the basement after work, come up for dinner go back down after dinner and then come up for sleep. He says he needs to unwind from work but he never talks to me or spends time with me anymore... If I try to talk to him about it he walks away telling me that all I do is complain. He says I'm never nice to him but I don't even have a chance to be because I never see his face. I miss him. I can't even ask him when he's coming come without him getting mad. I feel that as his wife I have a right to spend time with my own husband... I'm afraid our marriage is already over. I have no idea what he's doing or what goes on in his life anymore... Theres more to it but thats the basic idea... I could use some prayer if nothing else.. Thanks for listening.

Oh my. I am going through this with my best friend right now.. she was married in Oct. and is already thinking of divorce. It's sad when some things change so much over such a short period of time. This is supposed to be the man you will spend the rest of your life with. The only advice I can give is to stay positive and try to calmly talk with him about how you are feeling. Hopefully he will see how much this is hurting you and you two can work on getting your lives back on track. If he fails to care about your feelings, maybe you should seek outside help at a marriage counselor. Find out what his deeper reasoning is for being so distant so you can work on fixing things together. Don't give up yet. Good luck, you are in my prayers.

I don't know what to add that Tink didn't say except maybe you can talk to a member of the Clergy. If you go to church talk to your pastor. We will be praying for you also.

Father God, I thank You that we can humbly approach Your throne with our petition for our friend OOBlue. I thank You that You say in Your word that "marriage is honorable, and the bed undefiled", and that the first recorded miracle of Your Son was at the marriage supper at Cana. Lord, I pray that You would undertake in this union and mold it into the marriage that You intended it to be. I pray that You would strenghten OOBlue, and reignite the spark of love in her husband that has somehow diminished. Father, I pray that You would also, if it would be Your will, lead them on the path of financial independence, for I sense that this may be an underlying cause of their difficulties.

Lord, I thank You for this forum where Your name may be glorified, and I pray that Your Holy Spirit would dwell within the members, that they may be a blessing to others.

Lord, not our will but Thine be done...For all You do, and all You continue to do, I give You the praise, the honor, and the glory, for this I ask humbly and in Jesus' precious name, Amen.

Thanks again everyone! My husband has come out of the basement for two whole days now! I think there is some saying about the voices of many... Thank all of you for your prayers and words of support. I was hesitant at first to post this topic because I was so new here, but now I'm glad I did.
