Hi Taffy friends. About 9 1/2 months ago I noticed a 'little' bit of wheezing when climbing stairs and a small amount of shortness of breath.Didn't really scare me but made me a little unconfortable.I quit a pack and a half a day smoking habit 9 months ago.(This is a habit that never completely goes away and I still have days I struggle) So far I have been able to keep off of them one day at a time. To make a long story short my breathing has gone straight down hill.I don't understand why as it should have shown some improvement. I struggle to breath daily and can no longer do the activities I use to do.I am going to a Pulmonary Lab in the morning for test.I am now using an inhaler but things arn't going well.
Please say a small prayer tonight that things won't be as bad as they look. Thank you and God Bless you all.

Had testing done today and test came back as expected.-Low lung capacity.I have been using an inhaler and now I am told I was only getting about 20% of the med. They gave me a Areo Chamber to attach to the inhaler which will increase the med inhaled to 50% more.??Don't know why they didn't do this to begin with.Tomorrow I will set up a new appt.to go back and see Dr. and he will inform me if there will be any more changes. Thanks Taffy friends for your prayers.

The aero chamber will really help. I hope you get your doctor's appointment asap and they don't keep you waiting. I'll keep saying those prayers for you, Gamz.

UPDATE-
I went to see my Doctor and got the results to the pulmonary test.He said the test shows I have emphysema. My breathing capacity is 52% and should be in the 80's.He ordered an x-ray which I just had done yesterday.
None of this makes much since to me since I quit smoking last July and just started feeling a tiny bit winded going up and down stairs at my DD'd house at Christmas time.(A date that puts us less than 5 months ago)The doctor put me on an inhaler on Jan 4th and I have continued to go straight down hill ever since. I have looked all over the net and talked to many people and no where can we find where emphysema comes on this fast and goes downhill this fast. I am now on two inhalers.I was on three but one I didn't do well on. As soon as I get these meds adjusted and hopefully find some that work I will be able to be on more. Take Care & Stay Safe Gamz
