DESCRIPTION:
I am a humble college student in desperate need of an upgrade from
the 9-year-old Pentium II laptop -- a Dell Latitude CPt S500GT -- I have
had to use for the past several years.
I need a Pentium 3 or higher notebook, most preferably with a
trackpoint device (the little "eraser head" in the middle of the
keyboard). A Dell or IBM model would be best. The laptop must have a CPU
speed of 1 GHz or faster. It should include an adapter, a battery that
can hold charge for at least 10 minutes, and a CD drive. The LCD screen,
keyboard, and pointer buttons should be working properly. It would be
nice to have at least 512 MB of RAM and a 30 GB hard drive, but I can
transplant such parts from my old laptop if I have to.
If you do not have such a machine you would be willing to give me, I
would at least be able to speed up my old notebook a little with 2
sticks of 256MB PC100 RAM. In any case, please let me know if you can
help me, and ask me any questions you might have for me.
