Hi all!! My name is Julia and I'm 38 (going on 500 it feels some days LMAO)and for the last 7 years I've lived in Staunton IL. Originally from Clarksburg WV (and yes thats West Virginia and I do have all my teeth, I don't run around barefoot OR pregnant, but I do have the accent and I have heard alllllllll the hillbilly jokes...lmao) I have 2 sons (see told ya I don't do pregnant) and they are both practically grown; ages 19 and almost 18. Right now I have a boyfriend whom I like to call my insignificant other (affectionally of course ) and 3 dogs, Bandit (rat terrier whom I would like to drop kick sometimes) Zeke (Bandit's son whom I just love) and Occhi (my pitbull and is in my pic on my profile). Anyone who wishes to get to know me will find out that I am EXTREMELY passionate about my pitbulls. Yes that was plural but I had 2 pass away in Feb 2007. That was the hardest month I have ever spent. Not all pits are bad...but you must know their attitude. They are more like us than people give them credit for. Every person on the face of the earth has their own identity, well so do pits. (ooops sorry I'm preaching...I'll stop) My oldest son is in college becoming an electrician at SWIC in southern IL and my youngest is leaving for college in Aug to ISU to possibly become a physical trainer (but the course he neeeded was filled he has to declare undecided for now).

What else to say...oh my sn...well the BF gave me that nic when we first got together because anyone that has ever watched SNL or knows British humor knows that means that I am a flirty person. Which ....yes I am...but I don't do it intentionally and I'm sure not trying to steal anyone's man (looked for a puke face smiley...there isn't one). But I LOVE to make new friends (thanks Lynx for telling me about this site). If all else is going to H - E double hockey sticks a friend can make you smile or laugh or let you see that the situation isn't as bad as it seems. 2 things in this world that are a must...friends and the unconditional love of your pets!!!!

I feel like I'm rambling...sorry...anyway...if there is ever anything you'd like to know...just ask. I'm not shy or a cold hearted @#*^$. I LOVE to help anyone that needs it and if it's within my power...I'LL DO IT!!!

I am one of those people you talk about in reference to Pits. We have a few around here and they are mean, so I am afraid of them. I know they are what you train them to be. It is a shame what has been done to the breed.

It's ok Carol. I know that a lot of mean spirited people like to train animals to be mean. Like I said I have/had 3...my 1st one was a smaller male named Meathead...he was crippled in his back (at birth the vet thought) so he was used as a "bait" dog. I rescued him and had him for 5 years. Not once did he EVER try to hurt a person or child. Now I do have to admit, he did not like other dogs (But that was to be expected) except my little pom/chihuahua Hunny. I also rescued another pit..he was brindle in color...name was Bam-Bam...just a big looking brut that loved everyone and tolerated other dogs...but again loved my Hunny. The hardest thing for me was their passing. Bam died on Feb 18 2007 and I held him in my arms as he took his last breath. Meathead passed on Feb 25 2007. The arthritis broke his back and I had to have him put down cause he was in so much pain.
I can't ever imagine anyone enjoying the pain and hurt they cause to an animal. My dogs have always been like my children. They only know what they are taught. Pic is attached for you to see my "babies" Rest in peace ...I still love you!!!

Nice to meet you! I used to live in IL as well, somewhat close to Staunton. My grandma lives in Bunker Hill. We lived in Bethalto, if you know where that is. My family and I moved 8 years ago to southern Louisiana and it's been quite an adjustment!

Hiya back, North western mounty type person dunno much bout the south but I likes the way sum dem speak. People says I's dum tawkin dis way. Samual used it just fine look where it got him. Travlin all round the worl makin muny like no tommary. If' I had a chice I'd a talked dis way all my lif.

Please understand I'm not making fun of this accent it is part of my character and I like it a lot.
I think some of the wisest people I have ever met didn't have the best speech process. But they impressed on me their way and I thank them every day for it.

Minds yu they didn't liek me at all and they said I's a dummy not worth the beatin ta get the lernin strait. So I's kinda thinks yer dawgs got that kinda feelin to. Mean all round and the only friend ya has is the lard. But den I founds dis place and it's the bees knees right from the tip top to the grundgy underside.

ArtsyFartzy (LMMFAO @ ur name) I get teased quite a bit about my accent. The reason being though is that my children lived in WV with me for 13 years and get this...they DON'T have the accent!!!! Just me...LMAO.

I have to say..I've "belonged" to a few other sites in the past and either all on the "team" were so involved in the everyday things that we all endure or just really could just not give a rats rear end about the people that they said they wanted to get to know. So to be honest...I kinda just feel off their "bandwagon".
