Awww, What a butter ball. He is adorable and is in our prayers.

Aww, I will sure pray for him and his family. Why is he having to have surgery?

Idont know what happened earlier it posted the Pictures but not the captions UGG lol I must not have posted the Modified version I had made sorry but here is a little of what is going on with this little fella and a modified first post


This little fella has had quite an entrance into this world... mommy was induced a month early becouse of measuring so big last friday morning... Demetrius was born 10:30pm.... His Grandma ( My Friend since Pre School) receved a call at 4:30am Saturday they were Life Watching him to another hospital becouse he was having problems. Posably a hart valve that was not developed properly...

That hospital ran all kinds of testes on him and found that he was born with only 3 chambers to his hart.. one of the Bottom Chambers did not develop as it should have... so that means the blood going from his hart is both Blue Blood and Red blood so he is not getting enough oxygen to his lungs to sustain his little body.

he has since been Life Wached for the Second time to a Chicago Illinois hospital... There they did More testing on him and found that the blood is not routed to his lungs properly. So That will have to be re routed during his Second operation around 4 to 6 months of age. They are keeping the little vain in his hart that usualy closes in the first 24 hours opened for blood flow with medication. Untill they go in and put a stint in there tomorrow... they will also fix a subsuquent hole in the Top chambers of his hart they found in the lastest testes the new hospital performed...

In all this His Mommy and Daddy were told that this morning he will be able to come home WITH OUT Oxygen some time next week.... if all goes well tomarrow during the operation at 2:30 unless the Dr's change their mindes tonight and move the surgery up sooner... have not heard any changes as of yet on that...

he has a Big Brother Jaden that can not wait to meet him.... and wonts to know just Where his Mommy is... Daddy works in Iraq and is here now but is to go back the 3rd of August but He is Just Not the Mommy and Jaden is not Happy loland the Mommy is Really Missing the J man badly and can not Wait to be home with both of her boys on her lap... soon

Oh wow. I will sure be praying for a speedy recovery for the little guy. My heart and prayers are with him and I pray for his family to stay strong through these tough times.

This is the Up Date I Just receved from Demetrius's Grandma talking to her on Yahoo Thank you for your prayers they were answered greatly today....

8: 30 pm: Demetrius is out of surgery and doing fine. They didn't get him back there until around 3:30 and the surgery took 5 hours instead of 3...

Dezi & Nate did get to hold him for the first time since his birth, briefly last night while they changed his bedding. He was pretty sedated, but his parents were thrilled to hold him even if for a moment.

Thank you all for your prayers and support through this difficult time in our lives... I can't thank you all enough...

Some great news. Thank God and thank you for the update.

He is the most precious looking little boy. So sorry to hear he's having to go through so much in his first few weeks of life. I pray that they will get everything repaired and working normally and he will have no further problems in his young life.

They are adding Mommys milk to his feeding tub and he is doing great with that taking to it very well....she wonts to nurse him as soon as she is able to.
they were weening him off the oxigen the 19th... He should be ready to leave the hospital later this week. Will add mor pictures when I am back home....

Baby "D" is doing great... he is off of his ventilator, oxygen, and the chest tube has been removed.... all he still has is his feeding tube & I.V.'s and monitors... Dezi gets to stay in the room with him now, he is no longer on NICU... and she gets to hold him now...

He has also been transferred to his 4th hospital since his birth

Ribbon was made for Baby D by a friend of his Grandmas

update I missed last night but am Very happy to post here this morning


Guess who was released from the hospital today!!!! Demetrius was released around 5 pm tonight and is at home bonding with mom, dad & big brother Jaden... He came home with his feeding tube-- and nothing else... no monitors....

Yes, that is a hint of red in his hair.... Jaden had red hair at birth too... Hopefully "D" will keep his red...

Thank you God for your healing hand and the miracles you perform everyday. Praise to you in the Highest. Please keep your loving hands around this young family as they now can bond with the newest member and baby brother can finaly be with his big brother .... AMEN and AMEN
