I found this site through a sister site called WLF. It looked interesting and I was hooked right away with all the wonderful people here.
I am married to an Air Force Retiree. He gave 20 years to our country. I am a retired educator.
We have two daughters with a parent's dream as son-in-laws. Our eldest lives in Southern California and gave birth to their first child last April. A boy. Our youngest lives in Olahoma. They have twin boys who just turned one this year in May and are expecting another son in November.
One of my favorite things to do is go to dinner and a movie with my boyfriend AKA my hubby. We like going on these monthly dates. Sometimes we double date with other couples. Those are always fun. We also like going on weekend getaways and of course the long vacations. Usually those turn into visits with the above mentioned family.
We have four miniature dachshunds which we have trained as therapy dogs. They visit hospitals, senior citizen homes, and Special education classes.
Our household also is home for three rescued kitties. They just eat, sleep, pester the dogs and like to wake us up a half hour before the alarm goes off.
My moniker sportweedee is a combination to the two nick names my parents gave me. Sport and Tweedee They are with the Lord now. Taken together in 2001 while flying.
In Sept. 2008 I was selected to be part of the Mod Squad. Therefore, I decided to ammend my introduction and move it to the pinned section.
I am looking forward to meeting all of you.

Glad to meet you. I am Kathy from Kansas. I'm a single mom of 3 DD 22 DS to be 20 and DS 17 going on 30 LOL I am also a Proud Grandma to 2 little boys 1 and 4 and One on the way next year some time. thumper, my family heritage is from Kansas and I still have lots and lots of family there. Some in Ottowa, Hutch, Sterling, and Lyons Caney and places I don't remember. I don't get back there nearly as often as my parents did.
If we travel east at all it is to the Tulsa area. Yep Chika, your state. Youngest daughter and her family live there. After her baby is born I will go out and dote on him for a while.
It took 31 years for me to become a grandma. Both my daughters wanted to take care of the tripple P's (Pre Parental Priorities) which were graduate from college, get a good job to pay of student loans, be married for at least five years before having children, and buy a house.
The only drawback is Merced is two far away from either of them. so I can't spoil them on a daily basis.

That is crazy Hutchinson Ks is my Home town... allthought I moved to my Now home 10 years ago.... I wonder if I know any of your relatives that would be Way to small of a world LOL

My parents moved to CA when I was four years old so I don't remember much about actually living there.
We went there ever year for vactions while I was growing up. That was when both sides of my family still mostly lived in Lyons and Sterling. Manwarren from Sterlling and McAllaster from Lyons.
My aunt and uncle moved to Hutch in their senior years to be closer to my cousin. there are lots of other aunts uncles and cousins once and twice removed scattered all over the state. I know them only by name though but I don't recalll any Kenedy's or Drobs
